app: remote droid

Whoa.  You install remotedroid on your android phone, run a jar on your HTPC, and presto! you have a touchpad and keyboard to control your computer at your fingertips.  Too friggin cool.  The default sensitivity is basically zero so you have to adjust it to your liking.  While I probably won’t use this for my main user interface since I have a logitech dinovo edge, I still think it’s a rather innovative idea.

Okay…I’m totally not an iphone fanboy, i promise. BUT…I downloaded the iphone app a while ago and setup was a cinch. It works just like a mouse/keyboard set. Corey dled that app for his driod and the thing suuuuucccked. There is a huge delay. Initially i suggested he open a port on our router, which he forgot to do and that helped a bit, but there was still some issues.

Maybe it just doesn’t work as well on the driod. I think the only thing holding me back from an android phone is the marketplace. I feel as though its a bit behind.
